Projects Abroad offers volunteer and internship placements in 28 developing countries around the world, most of which do not require previous experience. Gap year students can volunteer in orphanages, teach English in local schools, intern in hospitals and at law firms, contribute to ongoing conservation efforts, and a lot more. Students can customize their own gap year experience by choosing the country or countries they want to go to, the dates they want to start, and the duration of their projects.
Global Gap is an innovative, 27-week program just for gap year students. The program brings students to five different countries for a variety of service projects that highlight important issues like housing, education, environmental conservation and human rights. The program begins in Ghana for orientation, followed by time in South Africa, Peru, India, and Thailand. Costs for the Gap Year includes ALL airfare (including air fare home for winter break), as well as food and housing, medical and travel insurance, airport pick up and drop off in each destination, as well as 24-hour support from our staff.
